The Minister Mr. Udovicic on this occasion talked about the full implementation of the new Law on Sport, which entered into force on 16 February 2016, which stipulates that medical checkups for children from 6 to 14 years, athletes in clubs and other sports organizations, engaged in organized sports activities, will from now on be financed from the health insurance Fund, which means that neither clubs nor parents of young athletes will no longer bear the costs of regular medical examination. As each athlete must perform a regular medical checkup every six months in order to be able to compete, this provision will greatly facilitate the functioning of the clubs, but will also help parents of the young athletes to whom this cost was a huge financial burden on the household budget.

"We want to return to those times when the sport was free, and we are working on that systematically," concluded Mr. Udovičić.
