Water polo players were subjected to exercise stress test to determine the level and the degree of physical exertion each individual is capable of. Functional stress test determines the reaction of the body to physical effort and the ability of the body to be exposed to physical exertion. Anyone planning to undergo physical exertion should go through certain levels of health control. After the test doctors estimate whether a person is generally able to engage in sports and give advice on how an individual should be exposed to physical exertion. Medical checkup and testing should be done before starting to practice specific sport , and preferably 2-3 times per year. Professional and serious athletes do this test to check their fitness and form.
