Asmir Kolašinac at the sports medical check-up at the Serbian Institute of Sport and Sports Medicine

Asmir Kolašinac had a complete sports-medical check-up prior to the competition that awaited him. On Saturday, 30th July, Kolašinac will participate in the competition in Zagreb and then travel to the Olympics in Rio. The Serbian Institute of Sport and Sports Medicine subjected Kolašinac to biochemical blood tests, anthropometric measurements, ECG at rest, general medical examination, ultrasound of the heart, the physiological examination, spirometry and ergospirometry test.

- I would like to use this opportunity to thank the Minister of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Serbia, Mr.Vanja Udovičić, for taking the time to visit me here. He and I have known each other for many years, and I would like to point out that in the past we even competed together and we supported each other, him in water polo, me in athletics, and we brought medals from major competitions. I am really honored that I was a part of the team that represented Serbia.
Now as minister, he really does a lot for the Serbian sport, and being a former athlete, he knows what is needed the most. He is our great support and I hope it will remain so in the future - said Kolašinac.
- I want to congratulate Asmir on all the success. It is not easy for him now to be a media star, and at the same time to have to face all the expectations people in Serbia have of him. Of course, our expectations are great, especially of those athletes who have spoiled us with constant high scores, but the real success of athletics we expect in the future, not only at the Olympic Games, which represent only one stop on the way to success. We shall have Indoor European Championship in Belgrade in six months, and several international competitions in Serbia this year as well. Our dream to watch athletics live will finally come true. We would like to give this fundamental sport, '' the queen of sports '' to the citizens of Serbia to motivate even greater number of children to engage in athletics and promote the results through the great athletes like Kolašinac - said Udovičić.
