Tennis Academy Tipsarevic

On Saturday 09 September, 2016, at the former tennis courts "Ušće", and now the courts of the Tennis Academy Tipsarevic, the Academy Tipsatević  representatives held a promotional tennis event.

The event was supported by the Serbian Institute of Sport and Sports Medicine. On this occasion Janko Tipsatević, the owner of the Academy and the famous tennis player, gave the representatives of the Institute a signed T-shirt, which makes the collection of the T-shirts signed by the successful Serbian athletes that the Institute possesses, complete.

This event was attended by all the coaches of Tipsarevic Tennis Academy, children who train at the academy and a large number of parents.

We should bear in mind that Janko is our best player from the youth category (first junior in 2001 after winning the junior Australian Open final) to senior 8th place on the ATP list. He made his debut in the Davis cup team of Yugoslavia in 2001, a breakthrough in the top 100 in the world in 2005, the top 50 in the world in 2007, and in the top 10 in the world in 2011. In the 2009/2010 season, with his teammates, he won the Davis Cup title.

This event, organized by the Academy, is just a prelude to the big event "Our mission - the joy of child's play", which will be held on 14 September, 2016 in front of Ušće shopping center from 17:00h to 19:00h.

The success of Serbia at the Olympics

Serbia is the most successful nation at the Olympic Games in Rio! We sent 103 athletes to the Olympics, and 54 of them returned with a medal on their chest.

The first, and a gold medal at that, was won by the wrestler Davor Stefanek. Silver was won by the 18 years old Tijana Bogdanović, a competitor in taekwondo. And this series of medals was continued  by the kayakers Milenko Zoric and Marko Tomasevic, who won silver, and the long jumper Ivana Spanovic, who won bronze. Water polo players for the first time became Olympic champions, and the historic achievement was recorded by the Serbian women's basketball team that won bronze medal. The volleyball team won silver and the Serbian basketball players were decorated with silver medal.

The Institute congratulates all our medal winners, and wishes them success in the future!
